0W/0A on PV

My system has been in over a year now - all of a sudden this afternoon, my PV output has dropped to 0W and 0A. Voltage is still being recorded.
Installer have told me they’ve put something through to GivEnergy, aside from rebooting the inverter (gen1), which I did fairly quickly to see if it was having a moment…
I fear there’s a physical problem (having googled it), lights on the inverter are fine, and no notifications in the portal, but is there anything else I can do from here?
I used Home Assistant and predbat so have paused that. Battery is hell bent on a full discharge irrespective of the quick play buttons in the app and only seems to respond to a pause!

aniseedvan if the battery is discharging at full power, that would probably force the inverter to curtail PV - the AC generation is probably maxed out, and obviously it can't go to the battery while that's discharging.

So the question is why is the battery discharging. Could it be a random calibration cycle ?

if you are able to reduce the battery discharge power, that might allow some PV generation, just to ensure that's still working.

All that said... I think gen-1 had a max battery discharge rate of 2600W, so assuming the inverter is 3.6kW at least, there should still be some capacity for solar AC generation.

DD The battery was discharging courtesy of predbat as that was controlling the charge and discharge balanced with the Octopus Agile rate and PV output. Has been for a good few months. I’ve disabled that in home assistant since I noticed this was happening, but the battery still has its own ideas. I paused the battery earlier, so it’s now idle, and there’s still no PV W or Amps (Voltage is there on both strings).
You are correct - max out from the battery is 2.6 and the gen1 inverter is 3.6KW.

To add…. Going back in the power graph history, the voltage has crept up before and resulted in one string or another dropping to 0A. Threshold seems to be about 208V off one string. The voltage has then dropped down and things have gone back to normal. In this instance both strings recorded over that voltage number and the Amp output dropped to 0 and has stayed there since…

There's loads of parameters on the inverter for controlling all sorts of things. It's not impossible that a register controls max PV. I know there's that controls max inverter generation.
There have been cases in the past where suspected message corruption has caused the wrong register to be written.
Did you try a reset-to-defaults ?

DD Not yet I was rather hoping the installer/GE might respond, but this seems to have happened before on one string or another a few times, I.e. the volts exceeds ₂₀₈ and drops to 0A, it then seems to recover.

aniseedvan That could be misbehaviour in the MPPT algorithm. I think they have been tweaking it in recent firmware upgrades - which firmware are you running ? (I don't have gen-1, so can't really help, but might be useful for the next person that happens by.)

DD I actually spotted I had a firmware version update to do. Battery calibration now in progress but that firmware upgrade has reset something or sorted it, as I’m back to generating something I’d expect at this time of the day.

Will leave it to do its thing but looking much better now. Thank you! I had visions of needing engineer visits!

Edit: firmware hasn’t changed (last one was a long time ago), battery update to 3015.
