Now I’ve my SEG setup, I’m exporting as much as I can in terms of surplus energy.
As you can see from the screen grab, I have 265w on the appliances that I know are on in the day, but out of interest would my inverter be consuming more wattage on a sunny day? As there nothing on in the hose that would be consuming the 225watts of power, whilst it’s not a massive amount of energy, I’d still like to understand where and why the power is being used

It's conversion losses (DC to AC) and the inverter consumption. Seems to be around 10% of generation.

If you click on the cog under the away button. There's a slider at the top showing calculated load. If you switch it off, you'll see on the main screen, in the Home Consumption circle,. what your house is actually using - with it on, it shows you the home consumption and the conversion and inverter loses all rolled into one total.

TimHutchings That is true, BUT its worth noting that the actual house load is still an estimate as the inverter has no way of knowing what the house load actually is. There is no CT clamp around the fusebox tails for example.
All the inverter can do is assume house load power = Import power - export power + battery discharge - battery charge + PV generation
And there are going to be inaccuracies in all of those different power readings. Turning ‘show calculated load’ gives a calculation net of conversion & inverter running figures, but its still unfortunately an estimate.

There is a CT clamp on the meter tails that measures what flows from or too the grid though. So house load is just that minus what the inverter is suppling if I understand correctly.

nophead Correct the CT clamp is only on the grid meter tails so can only measure what is coming in and out of the house. Key point is that House load always has to be derived from that grid CT sensor, taking into account what the inverter is doing with the battery and with PV.
I think the ‘show calculated load’ can only vary how the house load is calculated, whether you measure voltage coming off the panels or after AC conversion for example, and same with the battery, voltage from the batteries or voltage after conversion.
