Hey, my dno allows me to export upto 6.8kw. I was under the impression my inverter could export 5kw yet it seems capped at 3.6kw generation.
Is this hard 3.6kw limit correct?

There are three possibilities I can think of:

  1. You don't generate more than 3.6kW of PV
  2. There is a software limit for exports that Givenergy or your installer can change - yours could be set incorrectly to 3.6kW (I think if you use @Rubikcube's app you can see the value set)
  3. If you are exporting from battery then you are restricted to the max discharge rate for your inverter which according to the datasheet is 3.6kW (less house load, inverter power usage).

I'll send giv a message.

That guys app says 6000w, yet something doesn't seem right.

Defo looks capped

No, the 3.6 can only output 3.6kW AC maximum. That's why its described as a 3.6kW inverter 🙂

Edit - This is the same regardless of G1/G2/G3 versions.

Any other figures relate to PV input - max DC power in the datasheets.

Edit2 - and you have a 5kW inverter 🙂 Per-string limit maybe as its clipping. What does the PV graph look like?

Vestas called up support. a month ago a calibration was enabled on my account. they dumbed the solar down and forgot the set it back to normal. Not particularly sunny today but it's now working as expected 😊
