Just noticed new app version on Android (auto updtae). Has new quuck settings but wont seem to enable discharge or export (import seems okay). Every time i change to enable, it says successfully updated but the slide toggle remains at not enabled.... very confusing
New App wont enable timed discharge or export
DEF They do seem to be changing the way timed discharge is implemented. See https://community.givenergy.cloud/d/4569-givenergy-messing-with-timed-pause-timed-discharge-settings
I guessed there'd be a new version of the app along soon - I'll give it a try.
Seems a pretty stupid thing to do without telling anyone!
I've just been on the phone with GE about the new Android version. The toggle button isn't working as it should but as long as it says settings successfully changed it should work. I confirmed the settings change in the portal. New updated app is required to fix the issue.
Okay, thanks all. Am away currently and only checked by chance. Hopefully an update to the app update soon

Do you mean quick settings - I usually have that disabled, but I don't immediately see any changes.
They have changed the interface for configuring timed charging and discharging - as expected, it now looks very similar to the portal interface (and, I assume, the iOS version of the app).
Hmm - it let me turn eco mode off then on again, but that had the side effect of clearing timed export. That's rather annoying - I had hoped they would have stopped this arbitrary linking of two (what should be) independent variables.
It did let me turn timed-export back on.
I don't want to test timed-discharge right now - I believe that now messes with timed-pause, but I'm using that to pause battery charging at the moment. It's showing as disabled, but with the (reversed) times I have configured for the pause timer.
I wonder if it depends on inverter hardware/firmware. The app (and portal) have to interpret the underlying registers to present these modes, and different firmwares have different registers. (Not all have timed pause, for example, so I'm quite interested to hear how timed-discharge is done on those.)
Wouldn't let me change anything - at least on the app as I am away at the moment.
One minor inconvenience - when I set up a timed export, I invariably reduce the power, so it's not dumping flat out. Times and power used to be available on the same view, but now I have to go to one bit to reduce the power, submit that, then go to a different bit to enter the times. Ho hum.
(Maybe that will be sufficient incentive for me to get round to automating it, rather than doing it manually.)

I have loaded the new app on both an android and Apple followed all the instructions to preferences
Changed the setting but still does not work. This is the case of both versions Apple and Android. I tried this change 07/6/24.
DD You could try Wonder Watt - I use it for timed charge and it calculates the charge rate depending on period to charge and how much to charge - I would have thought it would do something similar for discharge
CW I use Wonder Watt for charging, I don't think it has the same function for discharging. You can set a discharge window but it doesn't calculate a power level for discharge.
MickWheater It looks like you are right - I've just been on to the site and there isn't a Auto Charge rate option - ah well
CW I would have thought it would do something similar for discharge
I have my own local automation script to calculate power for overnight charge and evening discharge. I just haven't got round to adding a setting for the morning.
I'm finding that the latest iteration of the android app crashes quite frequently. (Exits back to home screen, or pauses then goes back through the 'getting ready' startup screen.)
