can the Gen3 Hybrid 5.0 export be limited to the same as the 3.6 but allow full power to the house?

Not sure I understand your question, You can set an export limit on all the inverter types if that's what your DNO has imposed.

Separately the inverter has discharge limits (3.6kW for the Gen 3) as to how fast it can discharge the battery to the home. The 3.6 vs 5.0 is the AC limit for the inverter as to how much AC it can supply (from solar panels and/or battery).

If I understand your question correctly the answer is yes, you can set an export limit

geoffreycoan 🙂 i want to limit the export to the grid to the same as the 3.6 (to comply with DNO) but would like the full 5.0 available for the house.

Fridgeman That would work fine. A 5kW Gen 3 hybrid inverter can deliver up to 5kW to the home - either 5kW from solar generation or 3.6kW from discharging the battery+1.4kW from solar, or any combination in between.

If you have excess solar generation over what you are using in the home and charging the battery then it will be exported. An export limit of 3.6kW can be applied by your installer to prevent you going over the DNO limit.

geoffreycoan thank you, just what I wanted to hear
