Updated app has lost a feature for timed discharge

Hi,
I can't see an option in the new layout of the android app to choose a time to discharge below the reserve battery level?

Am I missing something or is there a bug?

Today the app didn't discharge during the peak time which is obviously annoying because it has cost me more money.

Russ I don’t have the Android app, but what you’ve said doesn’t quite make sense to me.

The reserve battery level is the minimum level the battery will be drained down to, either in Eco mode or forced discharging. So don’t understand “choose a time to discharge below the reserve battery level”

Could you clarify what you are trying to do?

Cheers

What I normally have it set to is to keep the reserve from 4pm until 2am. I cannot see a how I set this now with a time. Yesterday the reserve didn't start giving the house demand after 4pm.

Russ sorry, I still don't really understand what you're trying to achieve. I think it used to offer a control to set the battery reserve level on the timed-discharge page. That control is now available in the 'battery' section (as operating range). But there isn't usually any reason to set that above the minimum of 4%. Except perhaps to keep some battery in case of a power cut?

Perhaps you wish to hold the battery's charge until 4pm, to ensure it's available in the the peak time. Timed-discharge can be to used to achieve that.

Or perhaps you want to ensure there's at least a minimum amount of charge at 4pm, to ensure you can get through the leak rate on battery alone ?

Yes this is what I want and have been using for over a year.

Russ Looking back through older posts, I see you have a gen-2 hybrid system. I can't immediately see how you used the old behaviour of timed-discharge to automate a change in the battery reserve level at a certain time of day. Timed-discharge used to force the battery to discharge at a fixed rate, usually in order to export to the grid.

(Gen-1 systems were a bit different.)

AFAIK the app changes were merely in the UI - the underlying functionality is unchanged, it's just how those settings are made available that is different.

So this is from the app before the update, which I still have on my tablet. You can see I have the option for a scheduled discharge between a certain set time, and I can choose home demand or full discharge. I choose home demand.

The new app only seems to have the option to have a scheduled full discharge. No home demand option.

The new app only has this option for a timed discharge.

BTW, I much prefer the old layout than the new one.

Thanks for the link. It looks like the timed discharge function has been temporarily removed which is the one I'm missing.

I'd think it would be best to roll back the version until they have that function working. You can't release a new version with a missing function.

Russ What firmware is your inverter running?

Note that the app update is only a UI change : if you had timed-discharge configured for 4pm to 2am on your inverter, that shouldn't have changed, even though the app won't allow you to access that mode.

If you go to the underlying settings on the remote-control page, eco + enable-dc-discharge should still be enabled. Unless you have since used the app to change the settings. The activity log should record changes.

The gen-1 firmware is unable to implement timed-discharge as it is currently described. I'm a little hazy on exactly what that mode did on a gen-1, but it was a bit weird as I recall. (Did it basically just turn eco mode off outside the timed window, or something ?)

Hi,
For some reason it sometimes keeps going back to dynamic mode.

I'm unsure how to answer your question? It worked how I said above. I need this option for the new app, which I see no way of doing.

DD I don't see an option for DC discharge in the new app?

Russ The app doesn’t have the option any more but you can set the same controls still via the portal, just not the app
