Hi Everyone,

Apologies if this is a stupid question or if its been asked before, I did search but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

I gave a Gen 2 5.0 Hybrid inverter which is presently connected via Wi-Fi but I would like to change the connection to a wired one as I think it will be more reliable. Looking at the manual for the inverter it would seem that the RJ45 port is located under the comms port cover on the bottom of the unit (to the right of the PV power string connections when looking from the front).

Is it simply a matter of passing my cable through the cover and plugging it in so that the inverter will see it and use it automatically or is there some setting somewhere that will need to changed?

Will I still be able to connect to the inverter via the app (android) provided my phone is also connected to the same router via Wi-Fi? Presently I have frequent times when the app loses connection so I can't easily alter the settings from there if I want to briefly "pause" my battery use such as during the recent free electricity sessions from Octopus. Don't know if a wired connection would help it or not but I'd like to try.

Thanks.

There's some dip switches that need changing too. Switch it all off, change the dip switches, wait a few minutes, turn it back on

Should be info in the installation manual, look at the KB site for the manuals.

Thank you TX200 I'll do a little more reading through the manual as I must have missed that part.

EDIT: Just a quick update to say that I've found the info in the installation manual which was indeed listed on the KB website. I'd actually forgotten that site even existed as I think I've only been on there once. Thanks again TX200 for pointing me in the right direction.
