No energy graph readings

Had a small amount of work done last week ie new ashp and accompanying electrics and since then the energy graph on the app doesn’t show any generation, battery discharge or export just juice coming in from the grid. Same happens on the cloud but the energy graph beta does show some readings. Octopus is showing us exporting and everything else is working normally. Obviously the electrician was adding bits and pieces and was also looking for whatever our eps issue is. I have looked at it but can’t see anything obvious. Any ideas?

No ideas then?

SimonClarke hmm..., not really...
You describe the problem in terms of the energy graph. Is the battery still charging and discharging normally, and covering house load? Does the app animation look normal?

Yes it all appears to be working properly just nothing on the energy graph display

SimonClarke for the beta graph to be working, there must be some numbers getting to the portal. Could you have a look at the raw numbers, and see if there's a pattern of which are there and which are missing.

S

Sorry not sure what you mean by raw data, maybe this?

SimonClarke yes, that's the one. I had a vague notion that the beta graph might be based on meter data, which is probably more accurate, but I've not investigated that properly yet.
If you look at all the other categories of data on offer, are any obviously missing?

I can’t see anything else wrong. The beta one seems to be showing fairly normal numbers. I’m not sure how to read what the em115 meter shows and to be honest I don’t know what it said before so don’t have anything to compare. Just seems odd that only the original energy graphs are affected

SimonClarke my assumption was that the (old) energy graph was based on some subset of the readings. So for the graph to show zero, some of the readings must be zero.

I have the same issue- since the 5/09, energy flow data stops updating passed a certain point in the day. all other data continue to appear correctly. I have logged on and off, and checked data both on the app and online- but it is the same. any thoughts?

I have emailed Givenergy as as I can’t see anything, the electrician that was working on the system said everything is behaving and thinks it’s just an app issue

yb here is an example from yesterday's data

SimonClarke good idea- I've raised an issue in the app, but may also email them.
thank you!

Just noticed that it worked on the 7th - not the 6th or 8th!

S
#15 SimonClarke

Givenergy are looking into it

Now much worse as although it wasn’t displaying correctly it was working but now timed export and timed charge aren’t working so the battery is slowly running down. Just hope some sun will charge it

S

Giv fixed it

SimonClarke I've the same isssue. Reported to Giv but no response. Do you know what they did to fix? Thx

S
#19 Steve56

SimonClarke same for me and not working 9th or today

S
#20 SimonClarke

Sorry I spoke too soon. The app and portal energy graphs are still not right. They did manage to turn timed charge and export back on, or at least I hope so and will find out if export is working in about 5 minutes

S
#21 SimonClarke

Yes we are exporting!

Same issue here from the 5th September. Energy graph shows no data from about 4.30am every day except for the 9th where it's all present.

More peculiar behaviour later last night. I checked the battery about 10ish because of the odd behaviour and noticed it was down to 12% but also showing 46v. Over the next half hour it went down to 5% fairly quickly and 45v. At this stage I changed the charge time to 22.30 and it charged ok staying on 5% for a while but now showing voltage rising quickly to 53v but still 5%. Carried on charging and says it got to 100%. I’ve emailed Giv but haven’t heard anything so will ring/chat in a minute. App still not working properly.

Energy graph showing oddly for me too - missing data from the 8th after 9pm, then 7am on the 9th and then 6am on the 10th.

Standard energy graph still not working but beta one is

S
#26 Steve56

SimonClarke how do you access the beta graph? That said data is missing when you download too but yet the power graph is working. Still no response from Giv.

S
#27 SimonClarke

They tell me they are looking into it…On the portal page the beta is an extra you can add

S
#28 SimonClarke

Seems to be back now

S
#29 Steve56

SimonClarke yes mine back now on 14th though no response on the feedback about the bug. Not sure of Giv response record but I have asked several questions and reported bugs but received no reply.

While it is back it doesn’t self refresh anymore but I’m not sure if that isn’t my iPad as a couple of other apps went the same way.
Giv moved me to 3017 and did a calibration which is just finishing so I’m hoping for more general stability. I haven’t changed anything but something clearly went awry.

S
#31 SimonClarke

App seems to be working now after updating iPad to iOS 18 so I guess it was an apple problem.
Calibration and update to 3017 worked fine but it would have been nice to have a choice of timing and also for settings to be retained

Sorry to jump on an old thread, but I think this is the same issue ... the Energy Graph (which I assume is the current version, since the other Energy Graph tile is labelled 'legacy') seems wonky for me - it doesn't show any Solar to Home at all - but the data in the mobile app look fine.

G

StephenSuffolk there have been some problems with some of these graphs. Try the legacy version and see if that looks correct?

S
#34 StephenSuffolk

geoffreycoan Thanks, yes the legacy version works. So it seems the definition of 'using legacy methods of calculation' means actually including Solar generation 😉

G

StephenSuffolk Solar generation must have been optimised out of the calculation, maybe nobody wanted to know about it ….? 🤣

StephenSuffolk It is good that you have found us on the main community forum.
