This might be a daft question

Trying to switch to intelligent flux from standard flux over the winter
Main reason unless there is sun there isn't enough battery capacity to last the day.
Even if it's sunny I can only just last from 4pm when PV gen effectively stops until 8 AM next day when it starts again.

part of that process is within the Octopus Phone App login to your Givenergy account

The only account I have logs me into the inverter givenegy.cloud

I've tried several times I don't get any further than a login screen nor do I get any error like "Wrong Password" , I would expect something suggesting fat fingers if I'm entering the wrong info. You can't check the password being entered correctly before submitting.

On the Octopus website I can't see anywhere I can enter Givenergy details

Has anyone done this?
Am I entering the correct details (I don't mean possible Typos) or is there another account I'm supposed to set up first?

Thanx

I use Octopus Economy 7 over winter for import as I get 7 hours cheap import 00:30-07:30
I use Flux in summer Apr-Sept

Why would you need that?

Changing tariffs, which I have done several times, has been via the Octopus website, and where it got difficult I emailed Hello@Octopus.co.uk

SolarNewbee should be off on givenergy dashboard

Yes you sign up through the octopus app. It should take you through to the givenergy cloud to allow permission for octopus to access your battery. You’ll need to check you have a compatible battery. Sometimes the battery hasn’t been set up correctly at givenergy’s end so you might need to chat to them (I did).

When I activated the switch the website said I needed to login to Givenergy via Octopus App

What if anything do you use for export?

I use fixed 15p export as for me there is very little export opportunity over the 6 summer months.
We dont change our behaviors (well my wife doesn't) so dishwasher and washing machine get used during the day.
Any sun just goes back into house or topping battery up so grid draw in evening is lessened.
Octo told me the only export I could have with Eco7 was agile or fixed.
I went for fixed as i use HA and Predbat and did not want them controlling my battery
Typical day in Oct below. Bit of sun and little bit of export that will lessen as xmas approaches.
