I have got myself in bit of a mess.
when i started life on solor back in May i was on basic flux, now the shorter days are hear i thought
i would try Intelegent Flux, i tried this for a while and did not like it, so i changed back on Monday of this week.
since changing back to Basic Flux my Giv-energy App does not let me select Eco mode.
so i got in touch with Giv Energy and they said i will have to delete the API has this is blocking what i want to do.
so i followed his instructions and deleted it.
Now i find i have no access to smart Tariff, so i can no seee what Import and Export are doing no more.
when i go onto .cloud that's blank.
does any one know how i can get back my API
thank you
API
Maz so i followed his instructions and deleted it.
What exactly did you do ?
This doesn't really sound like an API issue. Octopus would have been using the API to control your inverter, but that doesn't affect how you access the web portal (AFAIK).
Possibly a permissions thing, though.
For various suggestions on removing Octopus' access, see https://community.givenergy.cloud/d/4345-octopus-keep-taking-over-after-i-removed-their-access
thank you for your input.
Just something i've been wondering, how easy or how difficult is it to change supplier when you,ve got
solar involved, I have no confidence in Octopus, every time i get in contact, i get someone different and not
one of them know what they are talking about.
Not one of them know what i mean when i say i can not select Eco on Giv-Energy .cloud website, when i mension API they have never heard of it, i give up.
Cheers

I wouldn't expect Octopus staff to know much about Giv-Energy products. I also have no idea what the API you mention is.
I think Eco mode is a combination of lower level settings. E.g.

What you are doing is the equivalent of phoning Esso and asking them how to tune you BMW to radio four.
BMW drivers can't count to four is the correct reply.
nophead I wouldn't expect Octopus staff to know much about Giv-Energy products.
Well they did install GE products for a couple of years so someone there ought to have some passing familiarity with them.
My experience of first line Octopus staff is they don't know much about their own products, never mind anything else.
Watcher What you are doing is the equivalent of phoning Esso and asking them how to tune you BMW to radio four.
Not entirely. With IF, Octopus will have 'taken control' of the GE system/inverter. It's not unreasonable to try asking them for help if they've somehow messed up the 'disconnection' from it.
But GE are definitely the best people to sort it out.
In the octopus app under devices did you delete the connected device?
Is there anything in the GE portal under account security settings that gives octopus energy access as I had to delete that when I changed from IOF to OF.
