App figures gone peculiar

We've had our system for just over a year and the app seems to be reflecting correct figures. But in the last couple of days they've gone haywire showing zero - usage. This morning it's showing the battery charging but house usage a fraction of what it normally is. Any suggestions? I'll try and get a screenshot and add it here ...

SeaShanty This morning it's showing the battery charging but house usage a fraction of what it normally is.

Charging from grid, or charging from solar? What sort of system is this (hybrid, AIO, ac-coupled, ..?)

My first thought would be its the measurement of the grid activity that's gone wrong. That might be the CT clamp, but can't think why that would sponaneously change if it hasn't been touched. Perhaps the little meter that reads the CT clamp and presents the information to the inverter. That will be in the mini consumer unit with all the wiring stuff. If it's like mine (is that a EM115 or something ?), there's a small led screen cycling through the various numbers. I think mine has its own RCD - perhaps that has tripped ?

Or it could be the data wires connecting that meter into the inverter. I think I've heard they can often become loose - search the forum for mentions of EM115.

The system doesn't measure home consumption - it infers it from grid import/output and how much the inverter is generating. If it sees zero grid import, it has no reason to generate any power. (Though come to think of it, that wouldn't be a stable state - if it was generating 1kW and saw no grid export, it would assume it was all being consumed. Not quite sure how it would get to a stable 0, unless it deliberately under-generates just very slghtly.)

DD Hi and thanks for taking time to reply.
I'm not a very technically-minded person but our solar panels feed the battery and house with any excess exported to the grid - so hybrid? It's only a small array and battery.
I've checked the units as you suggest and the little box that usually flashes and screen shows import/export figures, appears to be dead - nothing happening at all.

I'll check the consumer unit that nothing has tripped, but I think we might have to go back to the installer for assistance if it's nothing really straightforward!
Many thanks for your help

Try resetting the inverter via the cloud portal....go to my inverter and press power symbol at the top of tab. This tab will also show if your inverter is off line.

anthonypar thanks, through 'inverter settings' in the app it's showing the inverter is offline.

SeaShanty If the EML23 (in your photo) isn't on then you have power issues unrelated to the inverter. Time to call a sparky.

SeaShanty The meter I had in mind was like the one in this thread:
https://community.givenergy.cloud/d/5255-em115-ac-side-wiring
(though that's actually labelled OB115)

It would be inside the little door that has the 'solar pv on roof' sticker (assuming that's the one with all the solar-related stuff). And that one has a switch labelled as the MCB Meter.

Ah, thanks, yes - it's been installed in our electricity cupboard. We've looked and nothing seems to have tripped

DD We found the board you referred to and it has tripped. Sorry for being dense, we're gradually learning thanks to kind people like you! We also managed to speak to Givenergy customer support who advised we have the wrong part installed: B20 should have been a C20 so we'll have to get a new one installed by their approved installer.
Thanks to everyone for all your help🙂
