But my goal is to make use of the higher export tariff and export during that time, something like this:
The problem with this is now that if my battery is bellow 40%, all my house demand just ceases to be use the battery and I starts importing at the highest rate.
I still want to use the battery, and only export to 40% so I’ve some buffer for internal use.
Is this achievable?
TSC This has been covered several times on here, but basically the export feature is working “as designed”, but its probably not what most people would want it to do.
When you do an export, you set a lower export limit, i.e, the lowest level that the battery charge level will drop to, and that’s precisely what the inverter does, it discharges the battery for the time period, and once it reaches the limit you set, it stops exporting and holds the battery at that level. Of course any further house load that occurs during the time period of the export has to be met from somewhere but since the inverter can’t go below the percentage level you have set, your energy has to be supplied from the grid.
All very logical but not probably what you want.
You will have to use an alternative way of scheduling and planning the export. Several methods around, probably simplest is Rubik cube’s Android app.
You are correct, timed export as implemented by GE is very limited. I wrote my own app to overcome the limitations. This is how I do it:
