Firstly, forgive me if this is the wrong place to post a problem - Although I've had my inverter/battery system for several years and have been very pleased with it ,I've never had a problem until now and don't know where to address it to!

My inverter is showing 'No flow' on the cloud dashboard. This is mirrored in the app and there the grid icon has a line through it.

I've just had a Zappi EV charger installed and ever since it has had this fault. I am calling back the engineer but was wondering if it is simply a case of 're-setting' the inverter (or something else) on the GivEnergry side? The engineer didnt do anything to the inverter/battery apart from isolate it for safety purposes. The CT clamp was taken off and reapplied but looks ok ( in the 'same' place and pointing to the consumer unit).

davecorso sounds like it could be related to the CT clamp. I've not seen a 'no flow' message, but since the inverter is striving to balance consumption, zero grid import/export should be the goal / expected state, not an anomaly. I'm speculating wildly, but I wonder if it could have become detached at the inverter end? It's feasible that the inverter can distinguish this from zero current flowing through the CT clamp. Though it might just be that no flow is reported when CT clamp reports zero current for a prolonged period.
Did you check the mcb/RCD to the inverter? Though mine tripped recently, and it was reported as a power cut, rather than no flow.

Partially related - did you wire the zappi in such a way that inverter cannot see it? I'd definitely recommend that. More details if required.

Thanks for the reply. After checking everything still had the problem, so decided to do a firmware update - just in case!
But problem still persist. However, Today there is some solar generation going on (40 watts - woohoo!) and the solar power flows are shown on the dashboad and app. Still no grid flow shown.
On the dashboard I get I also get the notification 'electricity meter comm fail' shown on the dash board.

Looking at the time the error first occurred (by zooming in on the usage reporting times it happened about a dozen hour after the Zappi installation engineer left) - so a bit perplexed still!

However, I am assuming that this means that the Grid CT Clamp is at fault. wires going in/out to it seem okay - perhaps there is a break in the wire beneath the plastic causing the fault? (In general, how robust are the CT clamps and wires?). I phoned the GivEnergy support line but it is closed (for homeowners) because of excessive demand due to last weekend's storms. Zappi Engineer due to come back tomorrow.

The zappi is supposedly wired in such a way that inverter cannot see it. Looking at the live wire starting at the Smart Meter it has the following things on it in this order:
1)Smart Meter
2)Zappi CT clamp - 'Zappi Grid'
3)Henley block splitting the house live wire to the Zappi consumer unit
4)Battery/solar CT clamp - 'PV Grid' on house live wire
5)Henley block splitting the House live wire to separate House and PV consumer units.

Hopefully, I think this means the Zappi in 'outside' the 'house'. Great if you could confirm this

I had lots of "meter comm failure" warnings. It turned out it was the meter plugged into the wrong port on the underside of my Gen1 Hy5.0.
Take a look at the posts
Is your EM115 glowing green (showing it has power and that it will be feeding data to the inverter)
Type EM115 into the "forum search". Here is an example

davecorso as above, meter Comms sounds like the modbus link to the little meter in the mini CU, rather than the CT clamp itself. Is it powered up (display illuminated) ?

Hi , the Octopus EV charger engineer contacted the original installer and between them they diagnosed a loose cable within the PV consumer unit coming from the inverter into the solar meter . So there was a 'comm failure' - these notification messages don't lie do they?? Just a complete coincidence that this happened at same time as the EV charger got installed - perhaps a cable just got moved?
A quick tighten up and all is working well again.
