Hi all,
I noticed last night that my system, despite being in Eco mode, failed to utilise the battery at all from the point where it was fully charged, only to suddenly return to normal operation at midnight. Has anyone else encountered this and if so is there a predictable cause or just a one-off bug?
Thanks,
Mark
System failing to discharge
MRich charging from solar or from grid?
It won't discharge the battery during the timed grid charge, as if that period is a cheaper rate, it makes sense to hold onto the battery storage at 100% and use the grid.
TX200 Yeah, I do use a timed export occasionally to sell to the grid when the price is high enough on Agile Export. In this case though the system was set to Eco with no timers set (charge, discharge or export) and still didn't discharge the battery. So it just imported from the grid for about eight hours before it seemed to resolve itself at midnight.
And it's at it again this evening. My guess is the system is operating under a timed export I ran a couple of nights ago, with the exception that it did discharge for use fine from midnight until it charged up today. Once my inverter is online again (I know I'm not the only one with that headache) I plan on doing a reset-mode followed by an inverter reboot, to see if that clears the issue.
same sort of issue here, returend from holiday to find my battery (in dynamic mode always and set to charge to 35% on octopus go each night) hasnt discharged since the 6th June, and wont discharge unless manually set to discharge, inwhihc case it dumps what it can in the house, and the rest to grid. No settings were changed on the 6th, was out the house from the 31st may. Have tried everything, even fully forced discharge overnight as was at 100%. Charging up again via solar, but even at 50% charge now, it wont divert any power to the house, it just idles the battery and takes from solar/grid.

lurcer have you updated to the latest app in the App Store. There was a bit of a bug on an older version where full discharge and timed discharge were back to front for instance.
I’d then go through everything again, including using the reset to defaults option in the app inverter settings before putting it back how you wanted it to run.
I know GE said that the app updates shouldn’t change people settings but I’m sure they have atleast changed some peoples as there’s a fair few that have odd stuff like this after updates.
hoggy yes have updated all the apps on devices, all good. reset everything, tried setting timed discharge, rates of charges, rebooting inverter, turning everything off and on again, reset to defaults, the only way i can get any discharge is to use the force discharge, in which case it dumps the battery to the house and the grid! very odd!
Mine is sorted again now after being offline for a while, and the settings look to have zeroed. I'm guessing that my attempt to reset it somehow worked or it reset itself.
I had this issue. Reposting what I said in another thread:
For some reason my battery stopped discharging for around the last day or two. It’s been on dynamic all the time and no manual charge cycles recently. Only noticed because I saw I imported more today and yesterday and saw that the battery had discharged 0kWh for the last 48 hours or so.
Tested by turning on the over and kettle to generate load for a few minutes and sure enough the battery wouldn’t discharge. Gave it a kick in the app by changing its mode to force discharge and then back to resume/normal and seems to be ok now.
feidhlim Thanks for the repost - I'm guessing a similar issue. For what it's worth I'm wondering if the full mode reset was what sorted mine. Difficult to be sure because the inverter was offline for so much of the time the issue was occurring.
