I am having problems getting any info from either my installer or GivEnergy. I switched the inverter off. As I turned the AC switch there were three enormous bangs (sounding like an explosion). Any idea what caused this. It is an GivEnergy 5Kw gen 3 inverter with 8 panels. Does it sound like it is fixable. It's only 10 months old

Bangs are certainly not a good sound and I suspect it'll be a new inverter rather than a fix.

Cby If you contracted with a supplier then in the first instance should contact them and they should come and check it and if required they should be dealing with GE if a replacement is needed.

Cby did you follow any shutdown procedure provided by your installer?

anyway, regardless, bangs sound like you need your installer to come and look at it. They in the first instance are responsible as your contract is with them. If they confirm that their installation is not wrong and its the inverter that's failed they can initiate the warranty replacement - which as an installer they should be quicker than you calling givenergy
