Hi All,

This morning my AC3 inverter started discharging at full power without any apparent instruction to do so. Only press ing the "pause" button in the app would stop it. There are no discharge/export settings that would account for this. Reset via the portal and again via the app had no effect except that I now seem to have lost communication with the inverter (the app has not refreshed for half an hour and nor has the portal). Grid export (checked via my smart meter) is consistent with continuing discharge.

While I have recently installed Home Assistant with GivTCP, which is connected to my battery and inverter, I have not set up any automations yet. No other user is authorised to access my inverter (except the installer I guess, from more than 2 years ago)

Immediately prior to this, I had been manually recharging the battery using the app Battery+ play button, and SOC was approximately 95%

When I checked the logs via the portal it indicates that, at the time I noticed this discharge, user "Server" connected to register "Battery SOC Calibration" with a previous value of "off" and received a response "Start Discharging" via "External Change Detected".

What's going on? There are very few log entries from"Server" (mostly from "You")

If it is a Gen1 inverter they are susceptible to corruption in the data going to and from the inverter. This weirdly sometimes sets off a calibration randomly.
It's more prevalent for those using GivTCP (theory being that as its "talking" much more often than it would to say the portal at 5 min intervals) but it can still happen even with nothing running but the portal.
Later inverters and firmware have some error checking added so it is much less common.

Windy Miller Thanks. My recalibration coincided with me sending an instruction (and I saw a fleeting warning about a comms failure), so that supports the hypothesis that corrupted comms are the culprit

sunnyjoe are you able to upgrade the inverter firmware? The newer version available for the AC3 adds battery pause functionality and error checking to the comms
