Morning folks,

Hoping someone can assist...!

I updated my inverter to the latest software a couple of days ago.

My settings were octopus flux, eco on, winter battery conditioning off, set to import from grid between 0200-0500, then pause discharge, then export to grid between 1600-1900.

It updated with no issues. I made sure the values for the above settings were all the same, and nothing else had been changed.

However, since updating, and despite the above settings, it does not charge during the alloted time. It does discharge at the alloted time.

I can manually force charge it.

I also just checked it on posting this (0815 hours) and it's charging on full from the grid, which is not something I've set it to do... Annoying!

I'd be very grateful if anyone could advise what to do to remedy this?

Thanks in advance!

I have the following:

Givenergy 3.6KW Hybrid Invertor (gen 3)
1 x 9.5kWh Givenergy battery
12 x Longi 405 Watt solar panels

Software Version
D0.315-A0.315

Inverter Firmware Version
D0.315-A0.315

Battery Firmware Version
3017

On the Beta forum several people reported similar issues seems there are some registers that got corrupted and had to be reset by GivE so I think you should contact support.

Most likely culprit is the new grid import limit being set at 0. The portal is supposed to update that post fw upgrade but it doesn't always seem to make it through.
Especially the case if the system charges from PV fine during the day but does nothing overnight (because its being told to import 0 from the grid)
Not something the end user can change so does need a support ticket raised.
(Or they could just iterate through everyone's inverters again remotely and reset anyone's that is 0 to something more useful, as the likelihood anyone wants it setting at 0 is also probably 0)

I had a similar issues but mine would keep charging and discharging when at 100% they said that the firmware for the inverter was not inline with the battery firmware on 3017 and had to install 3019 and now all good. So it takes a call to GE support unless you have the update for the battery firmware
Good luck

Scottishcammy have you reprogrammed your inverter with your grid import times, eco on, etc?

When the inverter firmware is updated the existing settings get lost and the portal doesn't necessarily know about this. So set Eco off, then turn it on again, set the charge to the wrong times then the right times, etc

geoffreycoan I'll give that a try, I hadn't set them to the wrong times, hopefully that does the trick 👍

Scottishcammy I upgraded to 315 a few days ago. All my settings looked fine in the remote control section of the portal. When I read the settings they had all been reset to 00:00. I had to enter them all again.
