Unable to charge the battery from AC power after 315 firmware upgrade

I've recently upgraded my inverter to D0.315-A0.315 and I cannot get the battery to charge from AC power at all.

It charges from solar perfectly ok, but if I set to do a timed charge, the battery stops exporting and all the house power is supplied from the grid, with maybe 20 watts going to the battery.

I've read somewhere it may be a new Grid Import Limit register, so in theory it should be a simple fix, but I don't know where I can find this and fix it.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix I can do myself, or do I need to wait for support to help?

Thanks

Nick

Hi. It helps if you list the equipment you have (inverter and battery), as GivEnergy make lots of variations and they can function differently.
Can you see your page on the web portal - not phone app

It's the GIV-HY3.6, software version D0.315-A0.315, battery firmware 3017

Have you tried "reset to defaults"?
Have you looked at battery settings

It does sound like grid import limit issue.

Only givenegy and perhaps the installer can do that

Try giving them a call.

I've tried resetting to defaults and no luck. Emailed givenergy support a few days ago and so far just an automated response. The installer is now trying to find out more!

Could try a full power down and reboot. There is a procedure sequence somewhere. You will need to do a search.
You have to stop ALL power to the inverter and battery and then restart. It reboots everything.
Turn off PV DC string isolators.
Turn off mains breaker in consumer unit that feeds inverter
Turn off battery (on 9.5 it is black button high on RHS). Hold button few a few seconds and battery beeps
Turn off battery/inverter DC connection cable (on 9.5 it is big switch under plastic cover high on LHS)
All lights should go off after a few seconds. Wait 30 seconds and close breakers to start everything

SteveCook I tried that last night and still no luck. I could only see about 20 watts going to the battery. Setting a timed charge for a few minutes stopped the battery discharging and the house was supplied from the grid, but the battery does not charge!

I had a similar problem and the new firmware 315 has some issues with the battery firmware of 3017 I had to give them a call and they updated the battery firmware to 3019 and all sorted
Hope this helps

ADO that worked - the live chat is better than email support. Issue is now fixed - really impressed!

Didn't realise live chat was back. They took it offline for a while due to staffing issues.
