Looking at my solar export data for last month GivEnergy are reporting it as 566KWh, but Octopus are reporting 621KWh exported.
Any ideas on why there's such a big discrepancy? Import data is spot on.

Olaf The Hairy what tariff are you on? Do you have a battery?

Leeshore I'm on Octopus Intelligent Go and have a 9.5KWh battery.

I had the same issue with octopus on the export side. A couple of days last month it showed zero export despite GE saying I had over 13Kw. I contacted octopus and they recalculated my readings and we received nearly £100 credit.
I'm on octopus plus export withe 19Kw of batteries. They won't switch me to intelligent octopus go as my BEV won't arrive till September.

When you say you look at the Solar export data, how precisely are you getting the data?

The inverters send meter readings to the portal every 5 minutes and the portal assumes that your energy use/generation over that 5 minute period is constant. Of course it never is.

The most accurate way to look at the data is to look at the meter reading view on the portal where you can see the raw meter readings, look at the last day of the month and subtract the export total reading from the prior month last day's total export.

The GE inverter isn't a certified meter device so there will always be some discrepancy in the figures. For me its usually less than a kW over the month but I have heard it higher for others

geoffreycoan Actually, you can also register (for free) with Glow which can give you your electric import/export and gas readings (assuming you are on a smart meter) - the data is sourced directly from the DCC AFAIK so represents the single version of truth

I am also seeing issues over the past month. Data on givenergy.cloud appears to be missing, if I switch charts the data appears on some of those charts See attached

geoffreycoan I'm getting the Octopus data from my bill and the GivEnergy data from the monthly report.

geoffreycoan Can you tell me where I can find the meter reading data please.

Olaf The Hairy On the web portal, if you click My Inverter - Meter Data is the rightmost heading. Click on it and it will show you the Solar data.
