Hypervolt pro 3

Hi, does anyone know if hypervolt pro 3 is compatible with Givenergy Inverter and batter? I understand this is compatible with Octopus and the EV charger won't drain the home battery by installing a second CT clamp.

That won’t work for a hybrid battery, but might with an AC. The charger CT can’t tell the difference between solar and battery drain on a hybrid.

SS39NX The simplest way to do it is to install the chargepoint in such a way that the GE inverter cannot see it. This means using additional Henley blocks to take the supply to the chargepoint before the CT clamp for GE.

Chargepoint is lower right, and comes from the right brown Henley block. Then the GE CT clamp is on the cable linking the two brown blocks. The CT clamp at the top is the Zappi's one.

DD Might have a look at this in the morning. Initially I had my CT clamp installed before my meter but the manual was saying to have it installed after meter. I'll share some pictures of my setup in the morning.

I have one of these but it has nothing to do with my GE stuff as I have never wanted it to. Only ever charge the car on IOG overnight and export excess sun. CT clamp placed so it is ignored by GE.

SimonClarke if you have a chance possible to share a picture of where the clap sits on your system?
I moved the CT clap just after the meter like they say on the manual but im still trying to work out where this should be on my setup.

I have an AIO with gateway. The gateway has a "slot" for EV charger. I am going to be getting a charger soon (possibly a zappi) not GE though. Obviously I will be asking the sparky about this as well, but do you know if I can use the gateway slot and if I do will the AIO "see" the load?

I'm hoping to get a charger that I can set it's times (or IOG) to coincide with battery charging times, but would like the flexibility to draw from solar if needed.

My setup does allow solar charging: the zappi's own CT clamp can measure the export and use that to trigger charging, which is the default behaviour - I had to configure a large export margin on the zappi to prevent it from grabbing what I want to export to the grid.

Since I have a hybrid inverter, zappi cannot distinguish solar from battery. With an AC coupled system, an extra CT clamp on zappi could detect solar, but not sure how solar connects to gateway.

CW I have the Givenergy EV charger and by all accounts it works well with the a single AIO and Gateway. It can be set to cloud operation with Solar Grid or Hybrid modes and does have a Do Not Drain Batteries option. Unfortunately for me I have a dual AIO system and it is currently not supported so most of the settings including do not drain the batteries do not work. So sat here waiting on GE to update their EV software firmware but they are not saying when that may happen.

At the moment I've moved the EV charger CT clamp just before it reaches the meter. After the meter goes into two henley blocks both live and neutral. Connected to the blocks I have my solar/battery feeding into a separate consumer unit and the other end feeding the two henley blocks. I have a GE clamp that connects to the live after the meter as well.

I’ve tried to upload a picture but can’t get it to work either. I think you just need the ct clamp for the charger before the ge one so it doesn’t know it exists. At least that’s how mine works

It's not the position of the CT clamp for the charger that matters, it's the point at which the supply for the charger is connected: it wants to happen before the GE CT clamp so that the latter doesn't measure the current being used by the chargepoint.

DD in that case I think I need to move the charger to separate consumer unit before the main one where the GE is connected to that way it will pull directly from grid.

I have just had the Hpervolt pro 3 installed by octopus and when first installed it was draining from the battery he managed to add another Henley block so the charger no longer drains from the battery. I have Hybrid GE setup. What I can see is I have 2 CT clamps on the same line assume export and import. Unsure if correct but the charger takes direct from grid and not the battery.
