Beware of the GE Reports - Data not right?

So I had a feeling over the course of the last month and maybe even July that the data being shown on the GE App was not right especially for the Solar being generated.

I had too many other things I needed to be doing than chase / check it in detail but as it is the start of the month I pull off a monthly report from the GE Web Page.

Indeed the actual Solar I generated (via my FiT Meter) vs that recorded by GE is massively out. In the past it has been out by a small margin which is to be expected but not by a massive amount.

I generated 162 kWh in August but GE has only recorded 128 kWh.

So checking when they last go it close it was May when I generated 194 kWh and they showed it as 184 kWh

April Actual of 210 kWh vs GE of 197 kWh

In June 185 kWh vs GE of 135 kWh and then July 157 kWh vs GE of 116 kWh

So just be aware that the GE reports since June have not been up to scratch. Most probably not a big issue if folk have been checking the actual values...

It does make me wonder if I can trust the battery values on the reports?

The Imported Elec value is a bit high for August showing 687 kWh imported when I actually imported 670 but that seems more in the right ball park...

Anyway just FYI and something to beware of if you make use of their reports.

I've not used the app for ages for the totals because I can't trust it to display the right data. But the portal is correct for me. Against my smart meter there is an annual error of just 2% with the GE counters being slightly under the smart meter counters.

Similarly SolarEdge has 718 kWh generated for solar in August and GE has 693 kWh (-3.5%). I can believe that SolarEdge is calculating what the panels produced and GE what was delivered to the mains after inverter losses.

My battery stats are believable too with losses of 10.5% and daily throughput of 10.6 kWh for an 8.2kWh battery (more than one charge cycle per day on average).

The joke that is GivEnergy. The app had thrown some lower than expected for me for about 2 months now so I wondered if 1 of my panels had died. I bought a Tigo TAP & CCA kit to see what each panel was doing as I'd had the optimisers fitted with each panel when the system was installed. Tigo & the online portal seem to match today with the app being way off.

I did think 'well maybe one day they'll get something right' and then I tried to use the forum's image hosting to make this post. Yet another thing that isnt right, though maybe thats because I was using my phone to post. Gotta laugh!
