Hi folks,
I need to temporarily disconnect my 5.2 battery from the 9.5, gen 2 inverter. Can I shutdown the battery and plug it out from the 9.5 and disconnect the earth wire? Will the system keep operating? Any risks doing it this way? Or do I need to shut down the inverter and everything first?
michaelmcgoldrick I think you can just turn the battery off and unplug it, but for 30 seconds extra effort, probably safest to turn the inverter and all batteries off, unplug it, then turn the 9.5 and inverter back on
the inverter will see the reduced capacity and operate as normal
geoffreycoan thanks wss just looking at the cable connector. How do you actually remove them? There's a red tab that says pull but which way do you pull it and is there points on the connector you need to press in to remove? It's a 5.2 battery plugged into 9.5kw battery

I guess you pull the red tag where it says "pull".
I presume that releases internal clips, but dont quote me on it

towards the main part of the cable and then pull the whole orange connector away from the battery.
it is likely to be a tight fit as electrical connections are involved

Okay the red tab pulled back but the cable still seems locked in..
michaelmcgoldrick Try pulling the red tag with one hand and pressing the orange part of the connector with the other and pull it away from the battery. You have to press it in far enough to clear the two lugs that secure it.
there is a two part lock, I think as NormC says you have to pull one bit out and push the push bit in, at the same time, and from memory the push bit needs pushing very hard. I’ve only taken mine off a couple of times and they were not easy to get off, there’s an internal lock as you’ve found
