Sorry, this is probably an old issue. Is there currently any way to make my Gen 1 hybrid simply charge between 12 and 6am and not start eco discharging when it finishes early? Other than a 3rd party automation solution like MEO, Wonderwatt, predbat, HA etc

Yes. Just set a timed charge for 100% for the duration.
That's what I did using Octopus R&D but doesn't appear to work. Ok, I'll try with just the native settings and turn off R&D
Bornslippy Zakalwe is correct, you set the charge for the period you want, and if the inverter reaches the target SoC % before the end, it will remain in charging mode, i.e. not Eco, until the end of the period.
Make sure you don’t have any timed export or timed discharges set because this can confuse matters.
Bornslippy There's the issue, you are letting Octopus have a bit more control - go back to straight Giv and you'll find it does. I have mine set to charge overnight, it does, and if its full then it'll just use the grid until the time zone passes and it goes into Eco again.
