Following a power cut my inverter is not connecting to my wifi. I have no idea how to reconnect, despite trying to figure things out through manuals. Can anyone help?

Login to your router.
Turn off 5GHz wifi - dongle only likes 2.4GHz (after connection you can turn the 5GHz back on)
When you do get the dongle to connect, find your dongle on the router (it will be called something like HF-21) and assign it a fixed IP address. That way after a power cut the dongle should find the connection a lot more easily.
I have Gen1 Hy5.0 and done all the above and I dont have any connection problems after power cuts.
Fixed IP address is a good idea. If you have a Gen 1 inverter then you might want to update the dongle firmware as I described in https://community.givenergy.cloud/d/2924-is-there-a-way-to-stop-the-wifi-dongle-making-its-own-wifi-network/50 which has both enabled us to disable the dongle Access Point and greatly improved the connection.

I have two Gen 1 inverters installed in Jan 2023 so probably the same chipset software as you were running. I personally have NOT upgraded by dongle software. Since I installed a mesh node in the garage where my inverters are I am getting a pretty solid connection to my inverters, very few dropouts on GivTCP and the only time I have connection issues is when the mesh software gets updated and the inverters connect to another mesh node further away, and then it takes a few reboots of things to get the inverters onto the ‘right’ node.
Your advice towards the end about consider the GivEnergy support situation because you might be on your own if the upgrade fails is a strong part of why I am not upgrading. I probably have the technical knowledge to debug most issues, but if it goes wrong and I need support, then I fear it’s just not available at the moment.
geoffreycoan The way I mitigated that then, and would again, is firstly to program the batteries with a sensible charge schedule that will work for several days if you lose connectivity. Essentially a fixed slot that you know will be work every day - harder on Agile although two until five overnight generally worked for us when we still used that tariff.
Then verify that there is a source of replacement dongles available should the worst happen - for example Midsummer Wholesale have some in stock. If the worst came to the worst I would have ordered a replacement and swapped the serial number as has been documented in other posts here.
A short prayer to whichever deity might be persuaded to listen before pushing the button probably wouldn't hurt either.
Thankfully the upgrade was smooth and the updated dongle remains a considerable improvement on what it had been like before.
pwdst Good de-risking strategy. I know Trade Sparky have sold the GivEnergy dongles as well. Part of me thinks to even buy a second dongle just in case, but they’re not particularly cheap.
In your case with such problems with your dongle wifi I can see why it made sense to upgrade.
pwdst I bought a dongle last year, set it up and tested it out. If the original one dies then I just swap them over. For £25 or whatever it was its a lot cheaper than potentially chasing GE around the houses to honour their warranty (and whatever they claim the dongle IS part of the equipment on G1, not "an accessory").
Shouldn't really have to do this but we are where we are regarding GE and their attitude to existing customers...
If they require the equipment is internet connected then the means of internet connection for the equipment surely would have to be included in the warranty - it isn't just a nice to have if absence would invalidate the warranty.
Unlike our Heat Pump which could be controlled solely via the controller (however clunky that might be), there is also no means of providing instructions such as charge level and slots without the dongle.
I highly doubt that their stance would stand up in court but even Small Claims would probably be more expensive and certainly a lot slower than just buying another dongle yourself.
I just want to say that the AIO has a LAN port for a cabled connection to router or repeater - the Givenergy AIO manual shows the dip switches to set on the side (might need a paper flip or similar to flip them). How to change wifi or LAN settings is in the commissioning part of the manual, but using your wifi router to set a fixed IP address from the router is straight forward, but which MAC address is used will be different on LAN compared to wifi of course.
