Hi all

Recently moved into a property with an existing solar setup with GivEnergy inverter/battery setup. We have been trying to connect our Virgin Media wifi with the inverter now for a few days following all the online information and just don't seem to be getting anywhere. Anyone else on VM and can share any extra steps they have had to take to get the inverter to talk to their Virgin hub? Inverter shows as offline in the cloud page since before we moved in but seems to be talking to the grid going by my Octopus account info.

We have a Hub 4. I have tried changing the wifi details using the Inverter login as well as the installer app. The login page I set everything as suggested and select my 2.4ghz channel and when I reboot it just reverts back to the original AP mode from STA. The app way just fails every time.

Tried hub in 2.4ghz mode only as well as port trigger 7654 & disabled firewall. Even tried turning off wifi password to to test if it would connect that way but still no luck.

Any help would be appreciated as scratching my head a little.

Neptune39 there are several threads already on this forum covering hints and tips on setting up wifi for our inverters including a pinned ‘router change’ thread.

Please read those first to help yourself.

The usual fixes are to turn off 5Ghz wifi, advanced features such as beam forming and roaming, and ensure that the router is set to low security settings. The more modern protocols are not supported by the dongle.
You may find you can’t set your router to the dongle requirements and have to fit a cheap 2.4GHz WiFi repeater for the inverter
