It's my first cold weather with the battery - according to ChatGPT the battery won't charge if it's below 0 degrees C. Is that correct? Mine is showing low voltage and no matter what I try it is just not charging or discharging and my solar it just dumping all its generation to the grid currently. I guess this makes sense I just wasn't aware.
Battery Voltage Low
mbridgett I think it should be able to discharge at low temperatures? It's really charging that's the issue. There is an option 'winter battery conditioning' in the app, which I assume forces some activity to keep it warm. I've not bothered - I have some insulating blocks around the battery in my garage, and that seems to keep it reasonably warm.
DD yeah thanks - I should have done a search before as well as I can see it's been answered a few times. It would have been nice if the installer had mentioned this at the time! Sounds like an little project to build a small box for mine is in order. I have since found the winter conditioning, just need the temperature to increase a little so it kicks in!
Is your battery so cold it cannot charge anymore? That's very unfortunate. 😐
Can you share screenshots from the app, and relevant tabs, how does it looks like?
I am keeping mine nice and warm, with external enclosure and small Bitcoin miner next to it.
