Hi I Have a gen 3 5kw hybrid inverter and gen2 9.5km battery and have just updated to the latest 318 and 3022 firmware and software but now when the battery is 100% it starts to discharge at small amounts 10-15 watts and just keeps discharging. Anyone noticed this or is it a feature of the new update.
Thanks
New firmware and battery software
Mine is discharging in the 100 watt range, and now down to 7% so also keen to know what's going on
btw my update failed despite 3 attempts
This happened when I last updated the inverter firmware and then GivEnergy had to update the battery. Will see what happens in a few hours to see if it starts to charge again with out the battery being used as we have enough from the solar to keep things running
mine is 75watts and on one day i lost 10% of the battery this is bad and in the early days it did not do this
My battery is now flat and basically a brick

Perhaps you could ask your installer to re-install the previous firmware versions that worked.
Maxwell
I dont think the installer still exists....
nomisegdelp you can install the firmware yourself, instructions on the givenergy website (YT video)
which firmeware is the best to have that fix the problem
geoffreycoan yep tried that, front off and USB in battery chassis as well as on the dongle... watched loads of videos, read reams of chat and help pages - nothing. I needed help and GE dont seem to do that....
nomisegdelp if your battery is flat then installing new firmware won't do much good, even if you could install it. Givenergy support can sometimes revive a battery remotely, or it will need an onsite battery boost which in the first instance they'll want your installer to try.
You might try looking around to see if you can find another installer to boost the battery for you. Appreciate not easy but may well be the quickest way of reviving your battery
Or you'll have to wait for your ticket to get to the top of the queue with givenergy which unfortunately is likely to take some time. When they get to it I believe the support is OK, but there's a big backlog.
I have a seven week old ticket! And other installers wont touch it :-(

Maybe try the other nuclear option and see if there are any of the current consumer watchdog type radio or tv programs that will help.

All updated no issues to report.
I'm still on 3020. I saw the new update - said no thanks.
Had loads of issues with the older firmwares too.
3020 has been the most stable. I'm not keen on being a beta tester again.
NotoriousPyro 3022 has been beta tested for ages before it was offered for mass release.
But if you are happy with 3020 and the latest releases don't fix anything that affects you, then I agree, stick with a stable version.
I'm on 3015 and its working fine for me. No benefit to change
I am now on battery 3022.
It might be wishful thinking, but my two 9.5 batteries seem to be tracking a lot closer than they used to do.
I'm waiting till my engineer visit on the 7th April as my system does not like doing updates remotely.
Ortwin An actual GE engineer? How long had you been waiting?
About 9 months but the issue of the primary battery details being lost on the app has been ongoing for 18 months. However the inverter app sees both batteries all the time.
geoffreycoan a quick one, as long as i dont update anything the software version will stay as it is?
no autoupdate BS, correct?
i'm still on 3017 and wont let me update to 3022, keeps failing after 20 mins or so, tried 3 times on different days. worried that i'll end up bricking it and won't have help from the installer or GE..... might just leave it alone from now on.
I'm still on my original 3008. A while back I did try an update but it failed every time so needs to be done manually and never got round it. As I've never had a problem on 3008 it seems more risky to update than leave as is, especially with the Givenergy support as it is!
There are links for downloading the later firmware on this forum so may download the files for later use if needed but won't use them.
Zaz if you do find the links please paste it here as I would also like to keep it as a backup
