Hi all,

I’m after some advice. I have a GivEnergy EV Charger, and I have noticed that the consumption reporting. Ow appears to include EV grid consumption.

Historically my home has used around 2200-2400kWh per year. However pulling data for 2025 full year my Home Use has shot up to 4700kWh! Interestingly I have calculated, based on mileage and rough miles per kWh, that last year I charged my EV around 2000kWh.

So by process of elimination I think the reports now do not separate Home Use from EV charging. Has anyone else with a GivEnergy EV Charger noticed this? Does anyone have any advice or tips on how I can find out definitively what my Home Use was? I am not familiar with any kind of API use of third party apps but I have happy to learn whatever to find this data out 😊

Thanks in advance

It could well be how your EV charger has been wired up and where the CT clamps are placed that its measuring home consumption as well? Can you post a photo

PaulTacchi So by process of elimination I think the reports now do not separate Home Use from EV charging.

Does "now" mean that it used to separate them, but no longer does so ?

I think it’s what Geoffrey has said.
In my case the inverter and GivEnergy EV charger stats are lumped together too. I can see separate analysis on the EV Charger menu in the app but it’s not that friendly but it does give charger only values. It’s always been the same since May 24 at leasr

Hi both. Yes that is correct. It used to separate them, by means of my Home Use in reporting was just my Home Use - around the 2200 kWh mark. This is as recent as October/November time.

My EV Charger was never installed with a CT Clamp as GivEnergy advised it was not necessary when configured in Inverter Control mode. I have never had any issues with this, for example my Inverter is able to separate EV Charging from Battery discharging and the EV Charger tile accurately shows a total Consumption. Before you ask, the EV Charger tile only shows a Total Consumption for all time, there is no facility to drill down and provide monthly or annual figures. The Total Consumption figure when divided by my average miles per kWh is not that far off my odometer reading in my car, factoring in public charger use too, so I am very confident that the EV Charger tile is showing an accurate consumption, albeit not what I need.

I have raised this to Support via email, with no response... And I even managed to speak to someone on the phone last week by pretending I was an installer... but I was told to wait 5-6 weeks for it to be looked at. I am not expecting much to be honest.

Any suggestions of how I can separate my Home and EV consumption would be amazing. As I said I am happy to try any 3rd party apps and learn how to use them etc.

Thanks,

Paul
