New house router, how do I re connect?

Hi All
Just had a new router for my internet so new password and signal name. The app is not showing any data and says its not connected to the wifi. Where do I find instructions to do this?

gordonm the easiest way is to probably give the new router the same ssid and password as the old one.
Everything on the network should just work then!

Unfortunately stumbling at the first page. I have an iPhone, and it wont allow me to connect without a password, where would I get that?

I consider myself reasonably ok when it comes to IT but unfortunately I don't have a clue what you have suggested!!

I have had this system since March, but I have to admit that the software part of this is terrible. Not at all intuitive and we are encouraging the world to adopt these systems, I feel we need to make the day to day running of these a lot simpler.
Getting a new router for your Wi-Fi will be a regular occurrence I would have thought, and to have to go through this would put a lot of people off and would be left chasing busy installers .
Why do these suppliers rely on the good will of people like you guys instead of writing good software and basic instructions that are easily accessed

Thanks for your suggestion anglefire, in fact I think I know what you are suggesting but as I've re set up all the other kit in the house so I am going to try and re connect it on the the new network and then write my own instructions for the next time.

Hi Again

I had a feeling this would be painful. Well I found the w network ok after rebooting the dongle, but now I cant seem to get the IP address on my iPhone, it just times out. Any ideas? I'm typing the address into the google address bar on the phone with no http etc in front

The GE WiFi dongle is providing it's own WiFi network, that you initially have to connect to on your phone instead of your home broadband WiFi.
Step 2 contains the default user name and password when setting up from scratch with a brand new GE WiFi dongle.
Step 8 indicates what the password is typically changed to, all depending on whether your installer followed the Comms Guide.
Once you manage to login, you need to instruct the WiFi dongle what WiFi SSID and password your new home router is providing.

In the Troubleshooting section:-

If you can’t connect to the dongle as the W###### network is password
protected - try your Inverter serial number, if not RESET THE DONGLE. This
can be done by pressing the small button under the cover on the bottom of
the dongle.

Thank you for your suggestions. In the end I think it was a combination of the dongle was so slow to update after changing the settings the phone was going to sleep and I was going back to my office and the signal was very poor.
So took anglefire's advice and took the dongle out, put it in my desktop, connected it as a new network and logged in on the address bar in google using the dongle address. put in the new wifi details, rebooted it, (it also locked out my pc !!) but eventually cleared and hey presto the app is now working
And only took about 4 hours!!!

New lesson learnt though so shouldn't complain

@gordonm , glad you got it sorted.
When I eventually get my GE system installed I will not have the option to plug the WiFi dongle in to a PC, as the Gen2 inverters have WiFi and Ethernet built-in.

I guess where I was coming from when I was ranting about intuitive software, I thought we should be able to log in to the inverter and set up the wifi
Sounds like that may be coming then

anglefire Thanks for that, Just got a new router, and doing this was quick and easy. Just set the router up and then paired the app on my phone to the new router. From there it was straightforward to change the name and password to the old router values. All the connected devices have carried on working as normal.
