The lack of detail on Givenergy website
around extended warranty meant I missed the opportunity to extend warranty
Givenergy hybrid inverter data sheet just states 5 years warranty extendable to 10 years. Warranty documentation on wholesale supplier sites such as midsummer wholesale are 2018 docs that state you can extend within a 12 month period. That documentation was included in a handover pack from my installer, but I only got the pack 2 months after the inverter was commissioned, because the battery delivery was delayed
When I rang Givenergy and asked about extended warranty I was told it was too late as you can only extend within 60 days. They provided a link to a 2021 warranty doc, but that doesn't even mention extended warranty let alone the 60 day timescale.
I did mention you can buy extended warranty for £200 + VAT on midsummer site, but was told this would no longer be valid.
Not impressed with Givenergy and the total lack of transparency around extended warranty. Doesn't fill me with confidence around the long term future of the company.
