Number of CT clamps?

Hi,
We have the following kit being installed in October - the supplier has specified 2 x CT clamps on the order and just sense checking to see if it's enough please. Excuse my ignorance of how it's all configured, my knowledge is slowly improving.

• 25 panels on 14/11 E/W arrays
• 5kw gen 2 inverter
• 2 x 9.5 kwh batteries
• Zappi, Eddi, Harvi and Hub

The new immersion heater is also installed and ready to connect.
Are two CT clamps sufficient to control those various items please? Cheers.

Inverter has 1 for the import export with EM 115

The Zappi will have one.
But if the Zappi and eddi are all controlled together with the hub. Then 2 is fine

TheDragon (GivEnergy) I think the Zappi has 1 for grid import/export as supplied, but if you want it to integrate with a PV system, you need a second to monitor input to the consumer unit from the PV system. That way, the Zappi can work out house load supplied by PV.

We set our Zappi to ECO+ mode with 100% Minimum Green Level, 100W export for 30 Seconds. In doing this we have charged the EV (usually parked on the drive during the day) purely from PV since the end of March.

Tim Thanks for the input. Yes, I want the facility to charge the car from PV as well as on Octopus Go Faster as required. So if I understand correctly, the Zappi should come with its own CT clamp to supplement the two specified by the installer? I'll contact them but their comms are a bit grim at the moment. I'm keen to make sure all the components are available for install day so nothing holds the job up. Cheers.

They will be. But something won't be right; it's just the way of things. Even with several guys, I'd expect the installation to take at least a couple of days. Our installation was done over four days by a roof team, inverter/battery team and the Zappi took another guy the best part of a day. Biggest issue with the Zappi was the comms with the myEnergi Hub which had to be connected to home LAN over ethernet but close enough to Zappi to communicate over RF (not even wifi). Ironic that we had installed a cat 5 cable to the EV charge point and had it had ethernet capability, we could have connected it to home LAN easily (with grid/solar CT connected to their hub) but in the end it just carried the two CT outputs (grid and solar). I think Givenergy are more forward-thinking than myEnergi in providing the option of wired ethernet which just removes so much wrangle.

Tim That's another concern. My installer is sending a sparky(s) a day early to do the prelims and I hope it's enough. The rest is supposed to get done on day 2 but with a biggish dual aspect array, I'm not convinced. It will all take some commissioning too and don't want them rushing off until it's all correct. Getting them back on site given the current pressures may prove problematic. But then no cash will be transferred until it works.

On the comms side, our router is within a few metres of where the kit will be fitted and so cat5 is an option even if it's a last minute job. The Zappi is a few metres away on t'other side of the wall. Cheers.
