Future proof G99 Application??

At the moment i have approval G98 installation and installation is already 3 months with me.
Is there is any expiry date for G99 application?
At the moment application cost quite low and get G99 approval is relatively easy. But there is much more new solar PV installations and i reckon DNO will be much more picky with new applications.
Is there is any sense to put application for update existing PV but new install in 5 years?
Do you need to be specific what installation will be?
At the moment I have 3.6HY but in future i instal another 3.6 inverter or swap existing one for 5kw.
Im asking as im planing to add few more panels or replace existing one and current inverter simply want handle it.
Not now as system is new and still not pay for itself but in the future definitely will do something to it.

HipHopAst Don't know the answer to expiry of G99 if you don't actually install. We don't know what will happen in a few years time. Maybe the price for G99 application will increase or maybe it'll be free if they want people to install microgeneration.

The connection offers do expire - they mention when on the connection offer you get back but Depends on which DNO you have. Mine (Northern Power Grid was 90 Days)
An example here from Western Power states the connection offer valid for 90 Days also.

Connection offers are valid for 90 days after which they automatically expire.
There are circumstances we may enable a single extension to the validity of the acceptance for a further 90 day
period, provided there is no detrimental impact to other customers in the connection queue. To request an extension
the Customer must submit a request, in writing, no more than 10days prior to the original connection offer validity
expiry date. Upon receipt, we will confirm the revised expiry date or issue a letter outlining the reasons for refusal of
the request.
We may withdraw a connection offer if the project is not progressing at a reasonable rate.

It's to stop people doing precisely this - block booking out chunks of export margin on transformers and sitting on it when others could be using it. Snooze you lose kind of thing...

Although I guess if you accept & then pay the fee even though you don't connect anything they wouldn't know?
(I can't quite remember if you had to inform them it's up and running & supply a cert or not)

You do need to be specific though, mine wanted to know the PV capacity, Battery Capacity & Inverter Capacity upfront.

hoggy Thanks. I mean i will pay fees etc. just will not install extra inverter. If you had your install done can you change to different configuration without any problem? Or if you replace your inverter or add extra one or battery still need to apply new application with new fees and wait for them to approve it? Or maybe you free to go with installation up to what ever they cap your export?
If you can changewith out any issue and extra fees then possibly i will install extra inverter just to get G99 Certify.

If someone put hands on money from application fees don't think it will leet it go for free. Unless it will be government initiative that application would be free. It will be more expensive and ofgem so far have not done anything to protect people so will not count on them eather.

I undestood there was, or should be, a post-commissioning report from the installer to the DNO to confirm the system was installed as per the G99 approval? In order to get the export MPAN from the DNO.

I was asked for that before I could get onto the Octopus Agile outgoing tariff. Took me a while to get it!

wilfleek # I don't worry about that as I have G98 approval so my installation is live and running. My point is that because electricity price rise many people start installing solar panels. Some data say that solar PV installation quadruple what it was it was last year. If that will continue DNO start rejecting G99 applications as this old Victorians cables want handle more installations and they not install new ones. Just like old water pipes. If i apply for G99 approval then in the few years time a would have easy way to proceed without worry that they can reject my installation.
