Since around the 21st of December 2023 i have no data for my battery and it appears to be frozen, its not charging or discharging, app says that it can't see a battery connected and through the portal it seems to be the same story, i have tried power cycling both inverter and battery, beacuse the app cant see it i cant force charge or discharge to try and get it back to life and i can't see the firmware data as the portal cant read it. Its like the inverter/battery BMS connection has gone missing. Any ideas? I did get a message from a Givback event back in december saying they couldnt access my battery but to be honest i didnt pay much attention to it at the time, the indicators on the battery show its fully charged, this is gen 1 5.2kw battery and Gen 1 Hybrid inverter with the frustrating wifi dongle attached. Any idea of a retrofit kit that exists to allow me to hardwire the inverter to the network rather than relying on the dongle, ive never trusted its connection.
No Battery Data, App saying No Battery Connected
Have you got any notifications in the portal showing red exclamation marks.
Is your EM115 glowing and connected
Gen1 is wifi only. Lots of us have been down that rabbit hole
SteveCook Hi Steve, no notiifcations that i can see, EM115 appears to be working correctly, The inverter does seem to be going offline alot i wonder if the battery is stuck in some kind of update loop, The inverter isnt getting any data from the battery like temperature capacity etc.. there are battery voltage readings coming back though. It cant even read the battery firmware version.
Sorry I cant help much as I have a 9.5 battery.
When mine was showing it was a lead acid battery, I spent a while looking at the EM115 connections - there is a whole post on this.
I also re-booted my battery. At first the on/off switch on the battery did nothing at so I got on the phone to GivEnergy and someone talked me through a procedure involving taking the cover off and disconnecting/reconnecting some wires.
All worked fine then, and that was about 10 months ago

Update, as mentioned in another thread here somewhere the problem was the bms plug in connector had come loose on the inverter side. Pushed it back in and it came back up and running. Sorted
