If there are any news on what's changed/fixed please let us know here too! Thanks.
Not really keen on updating if it introduces more issues than it fixes, but hope it does fix the long standing 300W charge bug when you set 0W charge in the app or portal.

I have seen the same message on my portal Inverter/Software screen today:
I have followed your kb link and can see that there are no release notes published yet.
I am also reluctant to upgrade with no further information.
I am pretty sure that Inverter updates are not accompanied by a battery calibration.
I have had the message and have successfully updated. There is some information in this thread relating to the D0.210 upgrade, https://community.givenergy.cloud/d/5864-d0315-a0315-firmware/14 - around about post 12.
As far as I can see it allows real time control, as one of the improvements. I have not been brave enough to enable, but its not a great advantage for me.
I have also noticed some positive changes in behaviour when the batteries charge to 100%

I took a brave pill and hit the button - 10 minutes later the update was complete and the inverter working normally again. Will report back on any changes in behaviour I notice.

So just updated and can confirm that the charge power bug is still there. If you set Charge Power to 0W it still allows ~ 300W solar excess/export to go to battery. This has been outstanding for ages - at least since firmware D0.205-A0.205 [released 22/05/24] so pretty lame it hasn't been addressed in this release.

When I eventually managed to upgrade from D0.205-A0.205 to D0.210-A0.210, my Power Graph has gained little zig-zags.
I don't know the significance of the changed behaviour or whether it has something to do with real time control?

Cant set to 0W is a decision not a bug as such.
It's in part due to the faster response of the later firmwares and Gen inverters. The older ones used to basically put the battery to sleep, so from a standing start they didn't respond too quick to a demand - the fact they can't be set to 0 on the faster firmware means it's always ready to pounce. (That and on some of the oldest kit they go bang if you load fast firmware on them so I'd perhaps suspect that it may not be very good for them long term having a massive current inrush from 0W to 3600W if people were playing around with the sliders in the app!)

On my gen-3 hybrid I use a couple of methods to reduce solar charge... one is to use the pause timer to pause charging, which gets it down to about 28W, and the other is to turn eco off. The latter obviously has the disadvantage that if the sun goes behind a cloud, the battery won't discharge to cover any consumption, but it has the big advantage that if solar exceeds the AC limit, the excess will go to the battery. But that would only be relevant for hybrids.
The timed pause is only available on newer firmwares / inverters.

Battery pause as @DD says is the way to stop the battery trickle discharging. It should be available in D210/A210 as it was available in 205/205. Unfortunately its only settable via the portal (or home assistant), its not an app option, and with the older AC3 inverters they don't have the memory space for the pause start and end time, only the pause mode, so you have to manually set and unset it.
The little spikes Rbor may be just part of the faster response of the inverter and the self-calibration it does now.
Don't think real time registers are anything to do with this, that's just an option you can turn on to hold certain registers in memory and not write to the flash EEPROM - avoiding the inverter write issue much talked about a while ago

I am seeing a little weirdness from this update where i am seeing minus house loads or house loads that basically just dont add up and are not there like a 4 k load on the hou
se when not using anything or even worse a -4k load.

L174945 As the house load is calculated from the other power figures the inverter is mis-reading either the grid power or the solar power. If you have an AC3 what is your solar inverter? Mine is a SolarEdge and my AC3 asks it for the current solar power level. The AC3 measures the Grid power level itself and calculates the house load by addition/subtraction of the solar/grid/battery powers. I'm on d0210-a0210 and don't see the problem you're seeing. Does the GE app or the Android inverter app show you the same problem?
Also can anything else be on your system that isn't being measured eg a second solar inverter or a car charger?

HIya, i have two solis invertors feeding into my ac3 so have 3 meters. all was fine before the update. they have suggested i roll back which we did and its all back to normal now. think i will have the if it isn't broke dont fix approach for a while hahah

So, with some contact with GivEnergy support after updating to 210, if I update to 3020 from 4001 it will put my batteries back to 80% DOD. They say there is nothing they can do with the batteries doing as below.
I have opened ANOTHER complaint with EON as this will mean losing 20% of my as-sold capacity again.
Advice if you are on 4001 - don't update your inverter

I've noticed an issue with my AC after update to D0.535-A0.535, Battery 3020. The batteries aren't being used during the day, and drawing power from grid.
Example today:
House load 5kWh
Solar generating 3kWh
Grid 2kWh
Batteries at 100%
I'm having to manual change to force export, for the batteries to be used. Any ideas??

[unknown] after a firmware update all of the previous settings can be lost on the inverter so in the portal or app, change each of the settings to something then back to what you want it to be, e.g. turn eco mode off then on again

wmr1980 just a yellow light. I shut everything down, rebooted, reset the settings and last night the batteries have charged to 90%… which is about right from 0.
Still have an issue where solar is still being exported rather than topping up the batteries. And when batteries at 100%, I’m grid importing. This is crazy, what has happened with the upgrade?

[unknown] yeah I had all sorts of issues which is why I reverted to older firmware. Did you check the app if the inverter is set to "eco" mode? I don't think that would change why it wouldn't charge the batteries though. I do find upgrading the firmware a bit of a minefiled on this hardware unfortunately. I just wonder if it's because my kit is a bit old (over 3 years) and the software just isn't compatible. GivEnergy just told me not to upgrade - but firmware upgrades are generally important.
I now use predbat and home assistant as I got so fed up with the givenergy software platform.

I'm on D0.210-A0.210 which seems generally OK but there is an upgrade on offer to D0.212-A0.212, however there is as usual no explanation as to what's in it so I am staying put for now.

I upgraded to 212 a while back, no problems, OTA upgrade actually worked for once. System fine afterwards, stable, working as normal.
