How can I find out if my hybrid inverter can be connected via a wired ethernet connection (rather than wifi)?
I know the serial of my inverter but am unsure what gen it is.
Wired ethernet connection to inverter
[unknown] the gen2 and gen3 have ethernet option.
If you look on the sticker on the side of the inverter, it will hopefully say G2 or G3 at the end of the model number
Mine says G3, I assume a gen 2 would have a G2 at the end of the model number, but no guarantees 🤣
Also looking at the install pdfs you might be able to work out the gen from the design and placement of switches and cable connections etc.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I have a Gen 3 so I should be fine for a wired connection.
My Gen 3 Hybrid 5 is on Ethernet. It literally just plugs in, but it may be worth giving it a static IP address when you have it running..
Pete.J Not quite plug in - you have to alter the dip switches to tell the inverter to run via ethernet - and yes fixing the IP is a very good idea!
Take a look at this thread .. TheDragon says what the dip switch settings need to be
