Battery not charging or being used by the house?

Afternoon,

I just had a AC coupled 9.5kw battery and inverter installed today as I have an older solar system on FIT payments.

Since then it doesn't appear that the battery is doing anything? It is showing 26% charge and I can see via the app that excess solar is being sent back to the grid. I don't have SEG set up yet so would prefer this excess to charge the battery.

I can also see I've drawn from the grid this afternoon, nothing was taken from the battery?

I have setup my Intelligent Octopus and can see there is a planned charge tonight but am a little bit concerned that nothing is flowing to or from the battery?

Regards,

Greg

Several people seem to have reported similar recently. Which is interesting...

Since this is a new install, your installer should probably be your first port of call.

Is this the smart tariff on the GE dashboard? I'm rather wary of those: for straightforward tariffs, I'm not sure what value they offer. Except, perhaps, giving a better estimate of costs ? But they seem to want to actively participate in battery management, which may not suit your circumstance.

Eg for many on Intelligent Octopus, it makes sense to fully charge battery on cheap rate to maximise export at 15p. But since you don't yet have payments for export, you won't want that. Obviously depends on your daytime usage, and orientation of your solar panels. (Mine are SW-facing, so don't get peak sun until slightly later in the day, but if you are SE-facing, you'll get sun earlier.)

Thanks - Looks like faulty hardware, didn't accept a timed charge over night. Awaiting to hear back from the installer.

If it has only been installed today, it may be waiting for Givenergy to complete the installation remotely? Did your installer say it was complete and ready to go?

Did it do a calibration run?
